Produced by Donna Phoebe Pascua, Maryjane Alejo. Proceeds go to DESAPARECIDOS, a Philippine-based coalition of family members of victims of enforced disappearances, and The Jonas Burgos Movement.

Bonfires for Peace is the Traveling Bonfires’ centerpiece community project. From 2001 to 2006, the organization produced morning to nighttime concerts and similar “Vagrant Wind” events in Asheville NC—as well as in Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, and other North Carolina towns/cities—and gathered performers/musicians/artists and peace-loving spirits from all over the US, with visitors from Haiti, the Philippines, France, Japan. A first “Bonfires for Peace” in California/West Coast was held at Huntington Beach in Oct 2008.

NOTE: A “Bonfires for Peace” club gig in July is also upcoming in New York City this summer, plus a follow up event in Manila in August or September. Details TBA.
