A first of Saturday VAGRANT WIND show, features the return of Nomads of 4th Street (Daniel Romo and Pasckie Pascua), with The Lucky Touch, and poets Cathy Gruman and Morgan Nowlin.

BONFIRES FOR PEACE IN SAN FRANCISCO. Part of the summer-long TBonfires’ centerpiece program. Proceeds go to The Association Compassion Asian Youth (ACAY), a nonprofit organization based in Bataan province in the Philippines. Performers: Crooks/Walsh Blues Project, the emoticons, Pinoy Jazz Friends, Social Lounge Project, Sugarspun, Tropicalismo. Emcee: Cathy Gruman.

Viento y Agua Café & Gallery, 4007 E 4th Street, Long Beach, CA. A VAGRANT WIND first of Saturday show. Featuring Nomads of 4th Street, with special guest—singer-songwriter Reggie Ginn.

*Bonfires for Peace is the Traveling Bonfires’ centerpiece community project. From 2001 to 2006, the organization produced morning to nighttime concerts and similar “Vagrant Wind” events in Asheville NC—as well as in Baltimore, Washington DC, New York City, and other North Carolina towns/cities—and gathered performers/musicians/artists and peace-loving spirits from all over the US, with visitors from Haiti, the Philippines, France, Japan. A first “Bonfires for Peace” in California/West Coast was held at Huntington Beach in Oct 2008. “Wander Women Series” is a new program, luanch summer of 2009. It features/showcases women acts and work.
